The grant competition is supported by the Operational Programme Jan Amos Komenský under the MENDELU Return Programme CZ.02.01.01/00/24_037/0013865. The aim of the competition is the implementation of research return grants provided to specific investigators – researchers returning to a research career after a career break. The competition is announced at the university-wide level.
The administration of grant applications and the implementation of the project take place in the Project and Contract Evidence system (hereinafter referred to as the “EPZ system”).
The Competition Office is the Project Office of the Rectorate.
An eligible applicant for a return grant is a researcher who meets the following criteria:
a) at the date of submission of the return grant application, the applicant is a student of a doctoral programme or has previously completed a doctoral programme,
and at the same time
b) is currently on a career break (this fact must be documented by the applicant by a confirmation from the relevant authority or an equivalent document),
or
no more than 12 months have elapsed between the end of the career break and the date of submission of the return grant application. The applicant must provide, at the date of submission, a confirmation from the relevant authority (or an equivalent document) proving that the career break ended no more than 12 months before the application was submitted.

Co-financing
The department of the Principal Investigator must contribute 10% of the return grant funding.
